    Job description

    IT Systems Engineer (ERP/EDI) - $95k - Des Plaines, IL - Hybrid

    Our client is a long‑established industrial supplies distributor whose business runs on smooth, reliable EDI integrations tied directly into their Dynamics NAV environment. With a major upgrade to Dynamics 365 Business Central on the horizon, they're investing heavily in modernizing their EDI landscape-specifically, moving from SPS Commerce to Lanham EDI as their long-term strategic platform.

    They're looking for an in‑house EDI Engineer who can take full ownership of this transition, optimize current processes, and elevate the overall application ecosystem.

    Why This Role Matters

    You won't just be supporting EDI-you'll be leading a major systems conversion that will shape the organization's digital operations for years to come. If you're someone who enjoys improving processes, modernizing integrations, and having a real voice in technical direction, this is that role.

    Your New Role

    As the EDI Engineer / Applications Admin, you will:

    EDI Ownership & Modernization

    * Lead the transition from SPS Commerce to Lanham EDI, including design, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and long-term optimization.
    * Manage the current EDI environment (TrueCommerce) while mapping out and executing the move to BC + Lanham.
    * Design and maintain EDI maps that translate data accurately across multiple trading partners and internal systems.
    * Ensure full compliance with X12 standards across key documents (850, 810, 856, 855, 812, 820, 997, etc.).

    Daily EDI & Systems Management

    * Process daily EDI transactions and quickly resolve any errors or failures.
    * Collaborate closely with Customer Service and trading partners to resolve order or integration discrepancies.
    * Maintain secure and compliant communication protocols (AS2, FTP/SFTP, VAN, MQ).
    * Prepare and maintain EDI-related database components.

    Cross‑Functional Collaboration

    * Document business processes and identify opportunities to streamline or automate.
    * Provide training and documentation to internal teams as needed.
    * Support additional integrated applications (WMS, E‑commerce, Power BI, E‑Ship, etc.).

    Continuous Improvement

    * Proactively recommend process enhancements-both technical and operational-to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
    * Contribute to the overall roadmap for the upcoming Business Central upgrade.

    What You'll Need

    * 3+ years of hands-on EDI experience (configuration, mapping, setup, troubleshooting).
    * Required: Experience with Dynamics NAV, Navision, or Business Central.
    * Strong background with EDI implementation and integration projects.
    * Solid understanding of AS2, FTP/SFTP, VAN, or similar communication protocols.
    * Ability to partner effectively with non-technical users and solve both short-term issues and long-term systemic challenges.
    * Bonus experience: WMS, Power BI, E‑Ship, or related supply-chain tools.

    What You'll Receive

    * $80-95k base salary
    * Excellent medical benefits
    * 401(k) with company match
    * Generous PTO
    * A collaborative culture with strong work/life balance
    * The ability to own a major EDI modernization initiative
    * Growth potential as the company moves into D365 Business Central

    NetSuite Consultant - Mid-Sized, Fun Consulting Firm - Chicago/Remote

    This is a well‑established ERP consulting partner with decades of success delivering modern cloud solutions across a wide range of industries. The firm is investing heavily in expanding its NetSuite practice, creating exceptional growth opportunities for consultants who want to help scale a high‑visibility, strategic business unit.

    The culture is employee‑owned, transparent, collaborative, and people‑centric-you're treated like an owner because you are one. Consultants enjoy meaningful profit‑sharing, excellent bonus potential, and a genuinely fun environment (including MLB Opening Day off, flexible hybrid work options, and top‑tier PTO).

    We've placed multiple professionals here before-each one has moved up rapidly. Career trajectories are real and fast.

    Role Overview

    As a NetSuite Consultant, you'll play a key role in delivering high‑impact NetSuite implementations and rescue projects. You will work directly with client stakeholders across operations, finance, supply chain, and manufacturing to design, configure, and optimize NetSuite solutions that directly improve business performance.

    You'll be joining a practice that is scaling quickly-this is a chance to become an influential voice, not just another consultant on the roster.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and support end‑to‑end NetSuite implementations, with a strong focus on Planning & Budgeting, Operations, and Accounting module deployments.
    * Facilitate requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post‑go‑live support.
    * Translate operational and financial processes into scalable NetSuite solutions, especially within supply chain, inventory, production, and manufacturing workflows.
    * Partner closely with client leadership to drive process improvement and ERP best practices.
    * Deliver workshops, user training, and documentation to ensure adoption and long‑term success.
    * Collaborate with internal project managers, solution architects, and technical developers to ensure on‑time, on-budget delivery.
    * Contribute to a growing practice by sharing knowledge, improving delivery frameworks, and mentoring junior consultants.

    Required Qualifications

    * Minimum of 3+ years consulting for a NetSuite Partner or Big 5 Consulting firm.
    * Experience working in a functional lead role on NetSuite implementations for at least 3 years
    * Hands-on experience implementing or supporting NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB/PBCS) is preferred
    * Strong background in operations-focused environments (manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, production, logistics, etc.).
    * Proven ability to gather requirements, document processes, and deliver ERP solutions to executive stakeholders.
    * Experience in multi-module implementations strongly preferred.
    * Excellent communication, client-facing, and problem-solving skills.
    * Bachelor's degree required in Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field.

    What Makes This Opportunity Different

    * Competitive base salary + Strong Bonus Structure ($140-160k OTE)
    * Profit Sharing
    * Transparent Leadership: Open-book management, honest communication, and direct access to practice leadership.
    * Outstanding Culture:

    * Multiple team building events and company retreats throughout the year
    * Award-winning PTO
    * Team events, collaborative environment, and no "big firm bureaucracy"

    * Career Acceleration: This practice is expanding rapidly-multiple people we've placed here have moved into senior and leadership roles within a short period.
    * High visibility: Your work directly impacts the growth trajectory of a strategic service line.

    Who This Role Is Perfect For

    * Consultants who want faster growth than they'd get at a Big 5 or large partner while also obtaining a better work/life balance
    * Individuals who thrive in ownership-driven, collaborative environments.
    * Those who want to help build and influence a growing practice.
