Our client is a manufaturer of high-tech products used in the criminal justice system as well as the proprietor of software that is in high demand within this space. They are a multi-national organization with a rapidly growing presence in the United States and are putting a heavy investment in building out their staff across accounting and IT.

Here's what we need.

A Sr. Financial Accountant who is an expert in project accounting will be a key player within their team. Reporting into their Assistant Controller with a dotted line to their US Controller, this position will be responsible for overseeing the financials on their various implementation projects with their customers throughout the US.

This organization is making a remarkable change within the US court system, responsible for fast-tracking cases and helping to ensure a speedy process for those across criminial and civil cases. It is a key proponent within improving the justice process in our country and as such, your role in this firm will be helping many people who are awaiting trial help to get results much more quickly.

Your New Role:

* Lead and Support Project accounting. Review and track monthly revenue recognition and related margins at project level.
* Assists with the reconciliation of physical inventory to General Ledger Balances to resolve variances.
* Lead and Supervise Accounts Payable function
* Actively involved in the month/quarter/year-end close process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
* GL Management and maintaining monthly balance sheet schedules.
* Support and liaise with external auditors on a timely basis.
* Adhere to US GAAP financial accounting standards and guidelines.
* Supporting the business in ERP implementation and management through effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
* Assist in budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost reduction opportunities.
* Assist in the design and implementation of controls, processes, and policies for the Group.
* Interface regularly and directly with various teams across the globe, with multiple time zones.
* Research, prepare complex technical accounting memo, and propose accounting treatment as it relates to Leases (ASC 842), Internal-Use Software (ASC 350), Stock-based compensation (ASC 718), Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) and any other technical accounting transactions.
* Prioritize multiple projects and deadlines at the same time.

What You'll Need:

* 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
* CPA an Public Accounting experience is a plus, but not required
* Expertise in Project Accounting
* Inventory and Cost Accounting experience highly desirable
* Excellent knowledge of ERP systems. Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV would be ideal but other relevant ERP experience, such as with NetSuite, AX, F&O, or GP will also be considered
* Knowledge of SQL or Power BI for reporting is a plus, not required
* Ability to multi-task and work on various projects at once
