Kongsberg Maritime is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape K-Sim Connect, our next-generation, cloud-based simulation platform. This role is ideal for a full-stack developer passionate about scalable cloud solutions and modern web technologies, and motivated by creating products that support maritime education and training worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

*

Design and develop full-stack solutions, covering both front-end and back-end services for simulation platforms and user portals.
*

Ensure high availability, security, and performance using Microsoft Azure.
*

Integrate simulation services with subscription management, authentication, and analytics solutions.
*

Collaborate closely with UX designers, simulation specialists, and product managers to deliver intuitive user experiences.
*

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for fast and reliable deployments.
*

Contribute to API design, enabling seamless integration with other K-Sim products and third-party systems.

Required Skills

*

Strong experience in full-stack development

*

Front-end: React, Angular, or Vue
*

Back-end: .NET

*

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also relevant).
*

Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architectures.
*

Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
*

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
*

Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices.
*

5+ years of professional software development experience.

Nice to Have

*

Experience with maritime simulation technologies or training standards.
*

Familiarity with data analytics and telemetry pipelines.

A well-established Norwegian organisation is undergoing a major digital transformation, modernising its core internal platforms while launching new greenfield applications. The company operates at national scale, delivering complex, technically demanding projects, and is making a long-term investment in its in-house software organisation.

About the platform

The company's core digital platform is a business-critical system used across the organisation for planning, execution, and follow-up. It includes multiple modules supporting workflows such as scheduling, procurement, logistics, quality, and reporting, and integrates with modern visualisation and modelling tools. A full redesign and redevelopment is currently in progress, alongside several new greenfield initiatives.

The role

They are now looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to take ownership of frontend development and help drive UX and UI quality across both existing and new products.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone with a strong eye for design who wants influence over product direction, frontend standards, and how users experience the platform day to day.

Key responsibilities

Lead and contribute to frontend development using Vue.js and TypeScript

Take ownership of UX/UI quality, working hands-on with Figma
*

Contribute to an ongoing redesign and rebuild of a core internal platform
*

Improve user experience and resolve legacy frontend challenges
*

Participate in upcoming greenfield projects and new applications
*

Collaborate closely with backend, product, and business stakeholders
*

Use AI tools (such as Claude) to enhance development workflows
*

Act as a senior presence in the frontend team, influencing standards and best practices

Required experience

*

5+ years of professional frontend development experience (7+ preferred)
*

Strong frontend engineering skills with a clear eye for UI and UX
*

Experience with Vue.js (React experience is acceptable if open to transitioning)
*

Hands-on experience with Figma, with the ability to show previous design or product work
*

Experience collaborating closely with developers, product, and business stakeholders
*

Positive and practical approach to using AI tools in development
*

Norwegian language skills at least B2 level
