    Job description

    AI Engineer (All applicants welcome - from juniors to seniors!)

    Stockholm · Permanent

    Are you a curious, hands-on engineer who wants to build practical AI solutions - not just proof of concepts - and help shape a modern data platform from the ground up?

    Do you enjoy working across data engineering, automation, and emerging AI tooling?

    And do you want to do it in a niche financial company known for being fast-moving, personal, and genuinely fun to work with?

    If so, this might be the perfect next step for you.

    About Us

    We're a specialised financial services company that's been supporting Swedish businesses and consumers for over 20 years. Unlike traditional large banks, we're small, agile, and collaborative - the kind of place where decisions happen quickly, people know each other, and you can directly influence how things get built.

    Our Data & Analytics function sits at the heart of our transformation. With a new tech direction and a rapidly growing team, we're building a cloud-native, AI-ready architecture designed for speed, autonomy, and long-term scaling.

    You'll join a close-knit team where personality matters just as much as technical skill. We value humour, proactivity, kindness, and people who genuinely enjoy building things together.

    The Role: AI Engineer

    This is a hybrid role combining AI engineering, data engineering, and BI/data platform work. You won't be doing "pure AI" every day - you'll also help shape the data foundation that makes real AI possible.

    You'll start with modular, production-minded tasks like building small agentic workflows, chatbot components, or LLM-powered automations - and grow toward more advanced AI work as the platform matures.

    You will:

    * Design and optimize data and AI-related pipelines
    * Build and integrate LLM- and agent-based solutions into internal systems
    * Prototype and deploy AI workflows using APIs and cloud tools
    * Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify processes ripe for automation
    * Work with Python, SQL, and cloud data services to support both AI and BI initiatives
    * Contribute to the broader data platform and take part in reporting, modelling, and data flows as needed
    * Experiment with vector databases, RAG patterns, agent frameworks, and new AI tooling

    This role is ideal for someone who wants variety, ownership, and the chance to build real AI capabilities - not just dashboards or not just models.

    Tech Environment

    We build primarily in Azure, with a long-term shift toward a more cloud-native and Snowflake-oriented architecture. You'll work with (and help influence) our evolving stack:

    * Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL
    * Databricks, Python, Pandas, PySpark
    * LLM integrations (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar)
    * REST/GraphQL APIs
    * Azure DevOps CI/CD
    * Opportunities to work with vector DBs, embeddings, RAG, and agent frameworks

    What We're Looking For

    Must-have

    * 1+ Years of experience in AI
    * Previous experience with data engineering, software engineering or ML / automation
    * Solid Python and SQL skills
    * Experience working with or around cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)
    * Interest in LLM integrations, prompt engineering, and building agentic workflows
    * A self-starter attitude - someone who can propose ideas, not just execute tasks
    * Swedish fluency

    Nice-to-have

    * Experience with Databricks, Azure ML, LangChain/Semantic Kernel
    * Experience deploying AI services via API
    * Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
    * Knowledge of embeddings, model management, or data governance
    * Experience in finance, risk, or credit data (a plus, not required)

    Personality Fit

    You'll fit in brilliantly if you're:

    * Social, positive, and collaborative
    * Comfortable in a small team where everyone has impact
    * Curious and proactive about how AI can solve real business problems
    * Someone who enjoys both autonomy and shared problem-solving

    Why Join

    * Shape the future of a growing data & AI function - early influence, high visibility
    * Work with great people - a warm, humorous, supportive team
    * True flexibility - room to explore AI, BI, data engineering, or even leadership paths
    * A company in transformation - a new Tech leader, a new direction, and lots of building ahead
    * A close-knit environment where ideas are welcomed and your work actually matters

    Compensation & Benefits

    * Competitive fixed salary
    * Permanent contract
    * 25 vacation days
    * Occupational pension (ITP-equivalent)
    * Wellness allowance (3,000 SEK/year)
    * Subsidized lunch benefit
    * Hybrid work environment (Stockholm office)

    If you want to help build real AI capabilities - not just talk about them - and you want to do it with friendly, ambitious people in a business that values flexibility and ownership, we'd love to hear from you.
