Accounting Manager - Construction/HVAC Industry

Our client, a well-established company in the construction/HVAC space, is looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their growing team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who understands the pace and complexity of project-based industries and wants to make a direct impact on the financial health of the business.

What You'll Do:

* Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and month-end close
* Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project-level financial reporting
* Partner with project managers and operations leaders to track budgets, costs, and profitability by job
* Prepare financial statements and reports for leadership review
* Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and industry-specific accounting standards
* Supervise and mentor accounting staff
* Support audits, tax preparation, and banking/bonding relationships as needed

What We're Looking For:

* 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in construction, HVAC, or a related project-based industry
* Solid understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting
* A "project-minded" approach - comfortable working closely with field/project teams, not just crunching numbers in isolation
* Strong knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar construction ERP a plus)
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* CFMA certification or CPA license strongly preferred
* Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
