(Senior) Data Engineer (MNC, In-house, Perm)

I'm seeking a skilled Data Engineer to become a vital part of our client's Azure - Data team in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a supportive atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities:

* Develop technical mechanisms to collect, integrate, protect, store, arrange, and transform data as part of data delivery solutions.
* Construct and monitor data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow.
* Develop scripts and custom code to refine and process data.
* Collaborate with business users to enhance existing tools supporting reporting.
* Conduct unit tests and create database queries to analyze results and troubleshoot issues.
* Develop and update technical documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and clear code comments, for reference by senior staff and colleagues.
* Work as part of a tight-knit team, maintaining professionalism and effective virtual collaboration.
* Recommend and develop robust solutions in a timely manner based on requirement specifications, working closely with IT and business stakeholders.
* Provide ongoing maintenance, problem investigation, and support for data systems.

Job Requirements:

* 2-6 years of experience in cloud based data engineering/ data platform projects.
* Strong aptitude in Cloud Data Platform solutions (Azure/ AWS/ GCP)
* Experience with SQL, Oracle DB, and Python development.
* Hands-on experience with ETL processes for complex data projects.
* Motivated, independent, and self-sufficient; able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
* Ability to write detailed design documents and communicate technical vision effectively.
* Experience in machine learning and AI projects is a plus.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related discipline.
* Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
