Databricks Data Architect - Pre‑Sales & Practice Growth - Hybrid (3 UK office locations) - Up to £125,000

This is not a traditional delivery‑only architect role. The client I am working with is investing heavily in its Databricks practice and is hiring a senior, commercially‑minded Databricks Architect to help take it to the next level. You'll sit at the heart of their growth strategy shaping deals, influencing clients early, strengthening the Databricks partnership, and helping win and land meaningful, complex work.

You'll be trusted to lead from the front: owning solution design in pre‑sales, guiding clients through modern Lakehouse strategies, and being a visible Databricks authority both internally and externally. If you enjoy combining technical depth with influence, commercial impact, and partner‑led growth, this is where you'll thrive.

The culture rewards high performance, and you'll have real autonomy to shape how Databricks is sold, positioned, and delivered.

You will work with

* Databricks and cloud partners to co‑create and sell modern Lakehouse solutions
* Clients at senior stakeholder and C‑suite level, guiding data and AI strategy
* Sales, account teams, and delivery leads to shape and close high‑value opportunities
* Internal architecture and engineering teams to ensure solutions land successfully

What the role involves

* Acting as a Databricks technical authority in pre‑sales and early engagement phases
* Owning solution architecture for Databricks Lakehouse platforms (analytics, AI & ML)
* Leading discovery sessions, architecture workshops, proposals, RFIs/RFPs and PoCs
* Influencing buying decisions by clearly articulating value, ROI, and technical trade‑offs
* Helping grow the Databricks practice through partner engagement, repeatable offerings and sales plays
* Challenging clients constructively on architecture, approach, and roadmap
* Supporting delivery teams to ensure successful, secure, and scalable outcomes
* Representing the company confidently with Databricks and within the wider ecosystem

Benefits

* Hybrid working with flexibility around location
* Generous annual leave
* Private medical insurance and wellbeing support
* Guaranteed investment in training and certifications
* Clear progression in a fast‑growing Databricks practice
* Opportunity to influence strategy, not just deliver tasks

Key experience required

* Strong pre‑sales background in data, analytics, or AI architecture
* Deep Databricks expertise with enterprise‑scale Lakehouse solutions
* Experience working for Databricks or a Databricks Partner (highly desirable)
* Ability to design, present, and defend complex architectural solutions
* Commercial awareness and experience supporting pipeline growth and deal closure
* Cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP
* Strong communication skills and confidence with senior stakeholders
* Databricks certifications (Associate / Professional level) for credibility
* A solutioning mindset, technically strong without needing to code everything day‑to‑day
