About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement data mapping and modelling solutions across a variety of systems and formats. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, secure, and consistent data movement between enterprise platforms.

This role is ideal for an experienced data professional with a strong understanding of data modelling, transformation, and integration, and proven experience working with IBM Maximo Asset Management software.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse and interpret source and target data structures (databases, XML, JSON, CSV, EDI) to define accurate mapping specifications.

Develop and maintain data mapping and transformation documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
*

Work closely with data architects, business analysts, and domain experts to align data definitions and business requirements.
*

Validate mapping outputs, identify discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy throughout the transformation process.
*

Maintain metadata and documentation for transparency, traceability, and governance compliance.
*

Support the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Essential Skills & Experience

*

UK National with minimum five years' continuous UK residency (to meet security requirements).
*

Strong hands-on experience in data modelling at conceptual and logical levels.
*

Proven background in data mapping, data integration, or data transformation (Data Engineer, Technical BA, or Data Analyst roles).
*

Proficiency with XML, JSON, CSV, EDI, and Excel-based data formats.
*

Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
*

Fluent in English (written and verbal).
*

Experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management software is essential.

Desirable Skills

*

Experience using ETL or data integration tools such as IBM DataStage or Palantir.
*

Familiarity with data documentation techniques (Excel mapping specs, BPMN, UML).
*

Skilled in XML/XSLT transformations and DataStage Designer.
*

Previous experience with enterprise asset management or data migration projects.
