Network Operations Engineer

📍 Location: Knutsford or Glasgow

A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a skilled Network Operations Engineer to join their EMEA Network Support team. The Role

The Network Operations Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of core infrastructure platforms. Responsibilities include:

Designing, building, and maintaining high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Monitoring and managing network performance, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues.

Developing and implementing automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

Applying secure configurations and safeguarding systems against cyber threats.

Collaborating with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver aligned solutions.

Staying up to date with industry trends and contributing to internal technology communities.

What You'll Bring

Experience in network operational support within a large enterprise or financial institution.
*

Strong troubleshooting ability with proven success resolving complex network issues.
*

Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and associated protocols.
*

Experience with security technologies such as Fortigate (FW, IDS, FMG/FAZ), Cisco ASA, and Cisco Tetration.

Desirable Skills

*

CCNP certification (or equivalent).
*

Hands-on experience in large multi-site, multi-protocol environments.
*

Practical expertise with MPLS, Multicast, QoS, and Wireless networking.
