You'll also be an integral part of the team that drives their migration to Azure, so experience in (or a curiosity to work with) cloud is an added bonus!

They're currently building the team with a data scientist who can help further drive the use of data to make smarter business decisions within consumer and business Credit Risk and Finance.
As the Data Scientist, you will support both B2B and B2C initiatives in the Credit Risk space for the company's European markets. In this role, you will bring a mix of advanced analytical skills and client and stakeholder management to build new insights and analytical solutions that drive company growth.
You will participate in all aspects of a modelling engagement, including design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring, and generally improving visualisation. You will also research complex business issues and recommend solutions, including model features and end products and any data required to support growing initiatives.

The data team for this company is growing as then embark on a challenging journey with insurance services and modernisation of platforms, which right now includes stepping into the cloud and introducing new technologies and techniques.
Your mission as the Data Engineer is to enable the organisation and stakeholders to be data-driven as you harmonise data and enable stakeholders to absorb the information and act.
The current initiative is to break down the monolith platform and migrate it to the cloud. The key technologies they will be using in their data pipelines are Apache Spark (Scala), Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Lake Analytics. You aren't expected to have expertise or experience in all areas, but they do expect an open mind for learning and eventually be comfortable in several of them.
You will also work closely with the analytic team who are currently migrating all dashboards and databases from QlikView to Power BI.
It's important for the team to have a strong understanding of automation as this is something that runs through the business and their internal team - an eye for automation in their environment and clever adoption of build and release pipelines is something that's highly valued.
This position offers you a high level of responsibility and control over data and analysis as you will be heading up all new and existing projects, in close collaboration with stakeholders.
The team are really close-knit and support knowledge sharing, with plenty of scope for personal progression. Some of the team have been there for several years and progressed from mid-level developers into more senior positions across the business - this is supported with certifications and conferences to enhance your learning.
