We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a product-focused technology company in Oslo. This role is ideal for a leader who combines strong people management skills with a solid software engineering background, particularly within Microsoft technologies, .NET, and Azure.

You'll be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, and helping shape the technical direction of modern cloud-based products. Working closely with Product, Architecture, and senior leadership, you'll ensure teams are empowered to deliver high-quality solutions while continuously improving engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing

* Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of software engineers
* Creating an environment where engineers can thrive, grow, and deliver impactful work
* Driving engineering best practices across development, testing, deployment, and operations
* Partnering with Product Managers and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives
* Supporting technical decision-making and architectural discussions

We're partnering with a leading organisation in Oslo that is transforming its digital commerce and logistics landscape, and we're looking for a Senior Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping that journey.

This is a highly visible, client-facing position where you'll work at the intersection of complex system architecture, modern commerce platforms, and large-scale integrations.

The Role

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering robust, scalable architecture across a multi-system environment. You'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to define end-to-end solutions that support critical e-commerce and retail operations.

You'll be involved across the full lifecycle - from pre-sales and solution design through to onboarding and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

A global technology-led organisation in the energy sector is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead a key engineering department in Oslo. This is a senior role combining team leadership, architecture, and product collaboration, with significant influence over both technical direction and organisational growth.

The Opportunity

This role focuses on a suite of applications that transform complex operational and upstream data into actionable insight across areas such as planning, asset utilisation, operations, and logistics.

The business is investing in a permanent, locally-owned engineering capability, and this hire will play a central role in defining the technical vision, hiring strategy, and team culture from the ground up.

Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 20+ engineers
* Act as a technical authority, contributing to and reviewing architecture and system design decisions
* Drive engineering strategy and roadmap planning alongside product and business stakeholders
* Collaborate across the organisation and with end users to shape new features, POCs, and product direction
* Establish strong engineering practices, hiring standards, and team structures
* Build a culture of technical credibility, ownership, and continuous improvement

Requirements

* Background as a Senior or Staff-level Software Engineer, ideally within backend and distributed systems
* Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers, covering hiring, development, and performance
* Ability to operate as a software architect, guiding technical decisions and long-term strategy
* Familiarity with modern cloud-based stacks, ideally including:

* TypeScript / Node.js
* C# / .NET
* Kubernetes
* Kafka
* PostgreSQL
* Azure

* Experience working with mixed teams of permanent staff and consultants
* Comfortable adopting AI-assisted development practices
* Experience within energy, oil & gas, or similar technical domains is beneficial
