Data Scientist

SC Cleared or Eligible | £600-£700 per day | Inside IR35

📍 Barrow-in-Furness 🏠 Hybrid Working 📅 Contract until December 2026 (Highly Likely Extension)

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a major programme delivering advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions within a secure and highly regulated environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge machine learning and data science initiatives, helping transform complex datasets into actionable insights and intelligent solutions that deliver real business value.

Initially, the successful candidate will be required onsite 2-3 days per week, transitioning to approximately one week per month onsite following the onboarding period.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and data-driven solutions. You will work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver robust analytical capabilities.

The role combines hands-on model development with stakeholder engagement, experimentation, and the ongoing optimisation of AI and data science solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop and deploy machine learning and AI solutions
* Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and business opportunities
* Build predictive models and data science solutions to address operational challenges
* Prepare, cleanse and engineer data for advanced analytics and modelling
* Evaluate and optimise model performance using appropriate metrics and testing methodologies
* Create insightful visualisations and presentations to communicate findings effectively
* Collaborate with engineers, analysts and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
* Produce high-quality technical documentation and model artefacts
* Support solution testing, validation and continuous improvement activities
* Contribute to best practices across data science, analytics and AI development

Required Experience

* Strong commercial experience as a Data Scientist
* Proven experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
* Experience using Python for data science and analytics
* Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries
* Experience with statistical modelling, predictive analytics and data exploration
* Strong data preparation, feature engineering and model evaluation skills
* Experience working with large and complex datasets
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Experience creating visualisations and presenting analytical findings

Working as part of an established data team, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising data solutions whilst ensuring the successful migration of existing workloads into a modern Databricks environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the migration of data workloads from Azure SQL to Databricks
* Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines
* Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes within Azure and Databricks
* Collaborate with data architects, engineers and business stakeholders
* Ensure data quality, integrity and performance throughout the migration
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues

We're supporting a leading Salesforce Partner on a confidential end-client engagement and are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong Salesforce integration expertise.

This role will be focused on building and supporting data integration solutions with Salesforce at the centre of the architecture, connecting multiple business systems and data sources through scalable, reliable pipelines.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data flows into and out of Salesforce, helping to ensure business-critical data is available, accurate and synchronised across the wider technology estate.

Working alongside Salesforce Consultants, Architects and technical stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering complex integration solutions and enabling seamless connectivity between platforms.

Key Responsibilities

* Build and maintain data pipelines integrating Salesforce with internal and third-party systems
* Design ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation and synchronisation
* Develop and support API-led integrations and data services
* Deliver batch and real-time data integration solutions
