We are partnering with a technology-led company operating within the transport sector that is looking to appoint a Head of Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of a modern software organisation while leading and developing a talented engineering team.

As Head of Engineering, you will play a critical role in defining technology strategy, driving engineering excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable products and services that support an industry essential to everyday life.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the overall engineering function, combining strategic leadership with a strong understanding of modern software development practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
* Defining and executing the engineering and technology strategy
* Driving best practices across software development, architecture, quality, and DevOps
* Working closely with Product and business stakeholders to align technology with company objectives
* Building a high-performance engineering culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
* Ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions
* Supporting recruitment, succession planning, and organisational growth

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader who combines strong people leadership with a solid technical background.

You will likely have:

* Experience as a Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, or similar leadership role
* A strong background in Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET
* Experience working with modern front-end technologies, ideally React
* Strong knowledge of Azure and cloud-based architectures
* Proven experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Fluency in Norwegian and English

Desirable Experience

* Experience within transport, logistics, mobility, or other operationally complex industries
* Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices
* Experience scaling engineering teams and technology platforms in growing organisations
