ERP Project Manager (Food & Bev Expert) - $135k - Sun Prairie, Wi / Remote

About the Role

We are a rapidly growing food & beverage manufacturing company seeking an experienced ERP Project Manager to lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. This role will be central in driving best practices across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Sales while ensuring alignment between executive leadership, frontline operations, and technical development teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong functional expertise in food & beverage processes, hands-on experience with Business Central, and familiarity with larger-scale ERP platforms. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that streamline workflows, improve data integrity, strengthen compliance, and empower users to leverage the ERP system to its fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Project Leadership

*

Lead end-to-end ERP projects including new module deployments, upgrades, integrations, and process reengineering.
*

Act as the primary liaison between executive leadership, department managers, end users, and external technical teams.
*

Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality execution.

Business Process Optimization

*

Analyze and document current-state processes across Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Sales.
*

Define and implement industry best practices tailored to food & beverage production, inventory management, regulatory compliance, traceability, and costing.
*

Drive standardization of processes to support scalability and reduce operational complexity.

Functional & Technical Coordination

*

Translate business requirements into functional specifications for system enhancements and configurations.
*

Coordinate with internal IT, external partners, and developers to ensure proper system design, testing, and deployment.
*

Oversee data migration, system validation, UAT, and user training.

Change Management & Training

*

Lead change management initiatives to promote high user adoption and consistent process execution.
*

Develop training materials and deliver ongoing end-user training for new functionality and process changes.
*

Serve as the subject matter expert for Business Central and core business functions.

Quality, Compliance & Reporting

*

Ensure ERP processes support food safety, regulatory compliance (FDA, SQF, BRC, HACCP), and internal quality standards.
*

Improve reporting, dashboards, and KPIs across operations and financial performance.
*

Implement controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of transactional and master data.

Qualifications

Required

*

Experience in an ERP Project Manager, Functional Consultant, or Business Analyst type role
* 10+ years of Project Management experience, ERP implementation and upgrades are a must
*

Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (must have).
*

Strong knowledge of food & beverage manufacturing processes, including production planning, lot tracking, quality management, warehousing, and cost accounting.
*

Demonstrated experience working across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain functions.
*

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, gather requirements, manage stakeholders, and deliver ERP projects on time.
*

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred

*

Experience with large-scale ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) or SAP.
*

Project management certification (PMP, Agile/Scrum) or equivalent experience.
*

Experience in multi-plant or high-volume manufacturing environments.
*

Familiarity with workflow tools, integration platforms, and data transformation tools.

About the Role

Lead and mentor a cross-functional team (~10 direct reports, up to 20 total staff) spanning software development, QA, business analysis, and UX/UI.

Drive the modernization roadmap for multiple legacy systems - defining MVPs, technical strategies, and Agile delivery plans.

Perform technical assessments to design modernization approaches leveraging Microsoft technologies and cloud architectures.
*

Champion Agile best practices, supporting a team transitioning from traditional Waterfall delivery toward a fully iterative, value-driven model.

Collaborate with senior federal stakeholders to translate technical solutions into tangible business outcomes.
*

Produce clear documentation, modernization roadmaps, and milestone deliverables aligned with long-term program goals.

Qualifications

Required:

Active Secret clearance (upgrade to Top Secret preferred).

Strong technical foundation - ideally a former developer turned technical leader - with expertise in Microsoft technologies (.NET, Power Platform, SharePoint, Azure).

Demonstrated success in Agile project delivery (Jira proficiency required).

Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with experience engaging senior leadership.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams.
