Director - Insights & Data Advisory (Financial Services)

Location: London

An international consulting practice is seeking an experienced Insights & Data (I&D) Advisory Lead to join its Financial Services team at Director level. This senior leadership role is ideal for a strategic data professional with deep expertise in financial services, proven consulting experience, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders at the highest level.

The Role

The Director will lead client engagements with Tier 1 financial institutions, designing and delivering enterprise-wide data strategies that drive transformation, mitigate regulatory risk, and unlock measurable business value. Acting as a trusted advisor to CDOs, CIOs, CROs, and CFOs, the successful candidate will combine business strategy expertise with a strong grasp of data governance, architecture, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a senior advisor to executive stakeholders within major banks and financial institutions.

Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex data transformation programmes.
*

Develop and present compelling pitches, executive briefings, and board-level presentations.

Define enterprise-wide data strategies aligned to business goals and regulatory requirements.
*

Conduct maturity assessments, gap analyses, and design target operating models and roadmaps.
*

Shape and implement data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM), ownership models, and stewardship roles.

Oversee initiatives in metadata management, data lineage, and cataloguing solutions.

Support the development of pricing and commercial strategies for data-driven propositions.

Skills & Experience

Strong experience in data advisory, strategy, or management.
*

Experience in a consulting environemnt, with a strong focus on financial services clients.

Deep knowledge of FS business models, regulatory frameworks, and industry data challenges.

Proven success in delivering large-scale data transformation programmes.
*

Strong understanding of data governance, architecture, and analytics platforms.
*

Excellent communication, pitching, and board-level presentation skills.

Due to increased project pipeline across a diverse customer base, the company is looking to add a passionate Dynamics 365 BC implementation professional to their team - getting involved in the functional delivery of end end Business Central projects.

This brilliant new role would be a fantastic fit for a partner based consultant looking for a fresh challenge in a forward thinking environment, or an implementation systems analyst looking to step into a specialised consulting role - offering full training and development!

This role will centre around finance/ accounting business processes, and the successful candidate will play a key role in leading the finance work stream for fresh, end to end D365 implementations.

This position is home based, with the requirement of occasional travel to customer site - project phase dependant.

What the role entails:

* Business analysis, functional requirement gathering and process mapping
* Functional design document (FDD) development
* Functional installation, configuration and user acceptance testing
* Key user training, go-live support and post go-live process improvement

Preferable experience required:

* Partner based consultancy experience (will consider candidates with end to end project experience within end user environment)
* Strong Finance business process understanding - ideally with finance degree/ qualification (ACCA/ CIMA part or fully qualified)
* End to end functional implementation cycle ability, from analysis/ design through to go-live
* Excellent communication/ stakeholder management skills
