Data Platform Lead/ Architect

My client, an enterprise company with business across the globe, is now looking for Data Platform Architect/ Lead to join their expanding regional data team.

Job Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and continuously enhance the central data platform architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards.
* Oversee development and maintenance of data pipelines and processing frameworks using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and related technologies.
* Develop and validate data models and integration pipelines; collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Drive data governance initiatives, including automated quality monitoring, metadata management, lineage tracking, and privacy-by-design compliance.
* Act as the primary liaison between business units, analytics, and engineering teams; facilitate workshops and feedback cycles.
* Conduct architectural reviews to ensure security, efficiency, and scalability; identify and mitigate technical risks early.
* Champion automation, DevOps practices, and emerging cloud-native technologies; lead proof-of-concepts and production pilots.
* Lead incident management and root cause analysis; implement remediation and prevention strategies.
* Define best practices and deliver training to foster a culture of technical excellence.
* Track performance metrics, resource utilization, and cost trends; provide actionable insights to leadership.

Job Requirements

* 8+ years in enterprise data engineering, platform architecture, and governance within modern cloud environments.
* Expertise in scalable, cloud-native data architectures and frameworks supporting analytics and AI workloads.
* Hands-on proficiency with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Logic Apps, and real-time processing tools (Apache Flink, CDC, Kafka).
* Strong background in agile and DevOps methodologies.
* Prior experience with aviation data or operations is a plus.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* Certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are advantageous.
* Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.
