Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer (Contract)
Contract Length: 3-6 Months
Day Rate: £400/day (Inside IR35)
Location: Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle (Hybrid: 3+ days onsite)
Start Date: ASAP

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer for a 3-6 month contract to support and enhance our AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role requires working onsite 3 or more days per week in Leeds, Manchester, or Newcastle offices, with flexibility for remote work on remaining days.

This position requires SC security clearance and UK RTW due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
*

Build and manage automated CI/CD pipelines for reliable and frequent software delivery.
*

Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
*

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments for performance and cost.
*

Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve deployment workflows.
*

Ensure compliance with security policies and cloud best practices.
*

Document infrastructure and DevOps processes.

Tech Stack:

AWS Services: EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, VPC, IAM, Route 53, Lambda
*

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (primary), CloudFormation (optional)
*

CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy
*

Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS)
*

Configuration Management: Ansible, Chef, Puppet (preferred but not mandatory)
*

Monitoring: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog (optional)
*

Scripting: Python, Bash, Shell scripting
*

Version Control: Git (GitHub, Bitbucket)
*

Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, Slack

Requirements:

UK RTW and ability and SC security clearance (required).
*

Proven AWS DevOps experience with strong Terraform skills.
*

Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker container management.
*

Strong scripting and automation background.
*

Comfortable working in a hybrid model with 3+ days onsite in Leeds, Manchester, or Newcastle.
*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

AWS Certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)

Experience with AWS security and cost optimisation

Background in regulated industries or large enterprise environments
