Our client is a globally recognized consumer products distribution company with operations spanning multiple international markets. Following a recent enterprise-wide implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the organization is making significant investments in technology, process optimization, and digital transformation initiatives to support continued growth and scalability.
As the company continues to modernize its systems landscape, they are seeking a Business Systems Manager to serve as the primary owner of business applications, ERP optimization, technology initiatives, and cross-functional process improvement efforts.
Position Summary
The Business Systems Manager will play a critical role in supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the company's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment while leading broader business systems and technology initiatives across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Inventory, and Warehousing.
This highly visible position will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, external technology partners, and IT leadership to ensure systems effectively support operational objectives. The ideal candidate combines ERP expertise, strong business process knowledge, project management skills, and a hands-on approach to solving operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Business Systems Leadership
* Serve as the primary internal owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
* Lead post-implementation optimization efforts and drive ERP adoption across the organization.
* Manage system enhancements, testing, troubleshooting, configurations, and process improvements.
* Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
* Support and optimize core Business Central modules including:
* General Ledger
* Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
* Inventory Management
* Warehouse Management
* Purchasing
* Sales Order Processing
* Logistics & Distribution
* Coordinate ERP upgrades, integrations, and new functionality deployments.
* Monitor system performance, data integrity, and user access controls.
* Collaborate with external consultants, developers, and technology partners on ongoing improvements.
Operations & Process Improvement
* Evaluate and improve workflows across supply chain, warehousing, customer service, finance, and order management functions.
* Drive initiatives that reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
* Develop scalable processes and best practices to support company growth.
* Support inventory accuracy, order fulfillment efficiency, and reporting visibility.
* Identify opportunities for automation utilizing Microsoft technologies and integrated business applications.
* Participate in strategic initiatives focused on business transformation and operational excellence.
Reporting & Analytics
* Develop and enhance operational and executive reporting capabilities.
* Support dashboard development, KPI tracking, and business intelligence initiatives.
* Partner with department leaders to improve visibility into sales, inventory, purchasing, and operational performance.
* Assist in leveraging Power BI and related tools to improve decision-making capabilities.
Technology & Vendor Management
* Manage relationships with ERP consultants, managed service providers, and technology vendors.
* Coordinate issue resolution and ensure service levels are met.
* Support technology governance, cybersecurity initiatives, and business continuity planning.
* Participate in technology roadmap discussions and strategic planning efforts.
* Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives.
Documentation & User Enablement
* Develop and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and process maps.
* Provide user training and ongoing support to improve system utilization.
* Create governance standards for business systems and data management.
* Promote user adoption and continuous improvement across departments.
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience supporting ERP systems, business applications, or enterprise technology platforms.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.
* Strong understanding of distribution, inventory management, warehousing, purchasing, and financial operations.
* Experience leading cross-functional business process improvement initiatives.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
* Experience supporting consumer products, distribution, wholesale, retail, or supply chain organizations.
* Business Central implementation or post-go-live optimization experience.
* Experience with EDI, warehouse management systems, and third-party system integrations.
* Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and Power BI.
* Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies including SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform.
* Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification preferred.
What Success Looks Like
During the first 12 months, the Business Systems Manager will:
* Optimize and stabilize the recently implemented Business Central environment.
* Improve reporting visibility and KPI management across key business functions.
* Streamline order management, inventory, purchasing, and warehouse processes.
* Increase ERP adoption and user effectiveness through training and support.
* Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and external technology providers.
* Identify and execute automation opportunities that improve efficiency and scalability.
Compensation & Benefits
* Base Salary: $110,000-120,000
