Title: Power BI Developer
Type: Contract
Length: 6 Months
Location: Onsite in Greenwich CT

Our client is seeking a highly capable Business Intelligence professional to lead Power BI development and support the delivery of high‑impact analytics solutions. This role is ideal for someone who excels at partnering with business teams, building scalable data models, and driving best practices within a BI environment.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting needs and translate them into effective data models and dashboards.
* Serve as the primary Power BI expert, overseeing development efforts and ensuring solutions align with industry best practices.
* Build and optimize data models using advanced SQL and strong dimensional/analytical modeling techniques.
* Create, refine, and optimize DAX calculations for performance‑focused reporting.
* Contribute to BI architecture design and broader solution planning.
* Work with teams across U.S. time zones and coordinate with India-based groups during overlapping hours.
* Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to other BI developers.
* Troubleshoot complex data, modeling, or performance issues with strong analytical thinking.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Qualifications

* Deep, hands-on expertise with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and dashboard creation.
* Strong proficiency in SQL and experience managing/transforming complex datasets.
* Familiarity with additional BI or visualization tools (Tableau, Sigma, Qlik, etc.) is beneficial.
* Ability to work independently as well as provide leadership within a team environment.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
* Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
