Data Platform Manager/ Architect

My client, an enterprise size commercial firm, is now urgently looking for an experienced Data Platform Manager/Architect to lead the design, development, and continuous evolution of central data platform. This role sits at the heart of data strategy-driving scalable architecture, enabling advanced analytics, and translating data into measurable business value.

Job Responsibilities

* Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and continuous enhancement of a scalable and secure cloud-based data platform
* Oversee development and operations of robust data pipelines (batch & streaming) using Azure technologies
* Define and maintain high-quality data models and integration frameworks aligned with business needs
* Implement best practices for data quality, lineage, metadata management, and regulatory compliance
* Act as a key bridge between business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions
* Drive adoption of modern tools, automation, DevOps practices, and cloud-native technologies
* Lead and mentor onshore/offshore data engineering teams, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement
* Handle incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous optimization for performance and cost
* Establish standards, documentation, and training to foster a strong data culture

Job Requirements

* 8+ years in data engineering, data platform management, or data architecture
* Proven track record building scalable cloud-based data platforms
* Strong experience with:

* Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake
* Real-time/streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, CDC)

* Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and integration frameworks
* Experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex data systems
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* Certifications (Azure Data Engineer, Databricks) are a plus
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
* English required; Mandarin is a plus
