Freelance Senior Data Scientist

I have a client who are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing data and analytics team focused on transforming large scale engineering and sensor data into actionable business insights. You'll be joining a team working on cutting edge science, machine learning and AI projects, helping to solve complex challenges and drive innovation.
This position is ideal for a senior professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyse large and complex datasets to generate meaningful insights and recommendations.

* Design, develop, validate, and deploy advanced machine learning models.
* Lead data science initiatives from concept through to production deployment.
* Drive innovation through the evaluation and adoption of emerging AI and machine learning technologies.

* Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Contribute to the development of scalable analytical and machine learning solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

* Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience working in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a similar analytical role.
* Strong Python programming skills.
* Hands-on experience with data science libraries including Pandas, NumPy, PySpark

* Strong understanding of Statistical Modelling, Machine Learning algorithms, Predictive analytics, Time-series analysis.
* Experience building and maintaining production-grade data and machine learning pipelines.
* Previous experience working with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms.

Desirable Experience

* Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
* Knowledge of Azure or other cloud platforms.
* Experience with Streamlit, React, or other front-end technologies.
* Previous Mentoring, Technical leadership, or team guidance Experience
