The Role
The successful candidate will join one of the company's largest software development teams and play a key role in the ongoing modernisation of core business systems and digital services.
Working within a cross-functional agile environment, the Tech Lead will be responsible for guiding a team of developers, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring high standards of software engineering across both frontend and backend development.
The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership and will suit someone who enjoys mentoring colleagues, driving best practices, and acting as the bridge between technology and business stakeholders.
There is also the opportunity to develop into a people leadership position for candidates interested in personnel responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of developers within a modern product-focused environment
* Drive technical decisions, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices
* Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using .NET/C#
* Contribute to frontend applications built with React and TypeScript
* Collaborate closely with product, UX, testing, and business teams
* Support the ongoing replacement and modernisation of core systems
* Ensure high standards around code quality, testing, security, and maintainability
* Help align technical priorities with wider business objectives

Requirements
The client is looking for someone who can demonstrate:
* Significant experience in full-stack software development
* Strong backend expertise with .NET, C#, APIs, and integration development
* Commercial experience with React and TypeScript
* Previous experience in a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or similar technical leadership role
* Strong understanding of software architecture and modern engineering practices
* Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical and business priorities
* Fluent Norwegian language skills
Experience from sectors such as financial services, fintech, insurance, banking, or other complex product environments would be beneficial.

* Typically 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, with flexibility where required
Interview Process
Stage 1: Informal discussion with hiring managers focusing on experience, motivation, leadership style, and cultural fit.
Stage 2: Technical discussion with senior engineering leaders covering architecture, code quality, testing, security, and agile delivery.
