Azure Platform Engineer - Fully Remote - £550/pd Outside IR35

Please note - this role will require you to be a permanent resident of the United Kingdom with the unrestricted right to work in the UK. This organisation is not able to offer sponsorship.

My client, a well‑established and highly respected Data & AI partner in the UK, is seeking an experienced Databricks Platform Engineer to join their team on a 6‑month outside IR35 engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to support enterprise‑level data platform initiatives while working 100% remotely.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising a scalable Databricks platform within Azure. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Azure platform engineering, hands‑on Databricks experience, and proven expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform.

Key Responsibilities

* Build, maintain, and optimise Azure-hosted Databricks environments.
* Develop robust platform automation using Terraform.
* Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the data platform.
* Work closely with architects, data engineers, and DevOps specialists.
* Provide best‑practice guidance for Databricks operations and Azure platform engineering.
* Support platform enhancements, monitoring, and CI/CD improvements.

Required Experience

To be considered, you must have:

* Azure Platform Engineering experience in enterprise or consultancy environments.
* Strong hands‑on experience with Databricks, including workspace configuration, clusters, jobs, and security.
* Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
* Solid understanding of cloud networking, security principles, and platform operations.
* Experience working with modern DevOps tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
* Ability to work independently within a remote delivery model.

Contract Details

* Length: 6 months
* Rate: £550/day
* IR35 Status: Outside IR35
* Location: Fully remote (UK-based applicants only)
