Data Scientist

My client, a retail group with business across APAC, is now looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Data Analyst / Junior Data Scientist. In this role, you will work on transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting machine learning initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

* Design and implement ETL workflows to consolidate data from multiple sources for analysis and modeling.
* Ensure data integrity and accessibility for business-critical reporting in collaboration with developers.
* Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
* Support the full lifecycle of machine learning models, including clustering, classification, regression, and recommendation systems.
* Monitor and enhance existing algorithms for accuracy and business impact.
* Partner with Product Managers, Business Owners, and Developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Create clear, impactful reports and visualizations for non-technical stakeholders.
* Provide analytical support across regions to maintain consistent data standards and insights.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
* Strong understanding of statistical concepts and a passion for uncovering patterns in data.
* High attention to detail in data cleaning and validation to ensure accurate reporting.
* Proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregate functions, and efficient queries).
* Foundational knowledge of Python for data analysis (Pandas, Matplotlib/Seaborn).
* Basic experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
* Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills to explain data findings clearly.
* Quick learner with adaptability to new tools and frameworks.
* Team-oriented mindset with integrity and strong work ethic.
* Motivated to take ownership of projects and develop advanced data science skills.
