Technology: .NET, Azure, Kubernetes
Language: Norwegian

Our client in Sandnes is expanding their technical organisation and is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing backend team. This is a key role within a modern, cloud‑driven environment, ideal for someone who enjoys both people leadership and technical strategy.

About the Role

As Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop a team of backend engineers working with modern .NET solutions hosted on Azure and deployed through Kubernetes. The role combines leadership, architectural involvement, and close collaboration with product stakeholders.

You will be responsible for supporting the team, improving delivery processes, ensuring technical quality, and contributing to long‑term engineering direction.

Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor and develop a team of backend engineers
* Drive best practices across engineering, architecture and delivery
* Support architectural decisions within .NET, Azure and Kubernetes
* Collaborate with product, architecture, and cloud teams
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding and performance cycles
* Promote a collaborative, knowledge‑sharing engineering culture

Technology Environment

The team works with:

* C# / .NET
* Azure cloud services (Functions, App Services, DevOps, Azure SQL and more)
* Kubernetes and containerised workloads
* Microservices and event‑driven architecture
* CI/CD pipelines and automation

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone with:

* Proven leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead or similar
* A strong technical background in .NET development
* Solid understanding of cloud architecture, ideally in Azure
* Experience with containers and Kubernetes
* Strong communication skills and a people‑first leadership style
* Fluency in Norwegian (both written and spoken)

Experience from the oil and gas sector is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Why Join?

* Opportunity to influence technical direction during a growth phase
* Leadership responsibility in a modern cloud‑native environment
* Skilled engineering colleagues and a supportive culture
* Competitive salary and benefits
* Hybrid work options and strong professional development focus
