We're looking for a highly capable Power BI Developer to support a critical reporting migration project for a leading organisation. This role involves converting a large suite of legacy SQL-to-Excel reports into modern, scalable Power BI dashboards, hosted on a clean and structured AWS Snowflake platform.



🔧 Key Responsibilities:

* Migrate and replicate existing SQL-based reports into Power BI
* Develop interactive dashboards and visualisations aligned with business needs
* Write and optimise custom SQL queries where required
* Collaborate with operations teams to clarify reporting logic and requirements
* Ensure all work is clearly documented and handed over to internal teams
* Identify opportunities to streamline and improve reporting processes

* Proven experience with Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake
* Strong understanding of data modelling and visualisation best practices
* Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions
* UK-based and available to start immediately
* Willingness to travel to Preston for occasional on-site meetings

Power Bi / SQL opportunity

The client are currently undertaking a significant transformation project, migrating from a legacy on-prem .NET CRM solution to a new cloud-based platform, Financial Cloud.

As part of this transition, we are seeking an experienced Power BI / SQL contractors to support the redevelopment of their reporting infrastructure.

Project Overview

* Reporting Migration: Converting a large suite of SQL extract-to-Excel reports into Power BI dashboards/Reports.
* Platform: New solution hosted on AWS Snowflake, with fully cleansed and structured data.
* Approach: Initial focus on replicating existing report outputs in Power BI, with scope for service improvement and optimisation.
* Complex Reports: May require custom SQL development.
* Documentation & Handover: All work must be clearly documented and handed over to our internal NCO team.
* Simplicity: Ongoing management of the reporting solution must be streamlined and maintainable.

Requirements

* UK-based and available to start immediately.
* Willingness to travel to site if needed for clarification with key operations staff.
* Proven experience with Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake.
* Ability to suggest and implement improved reporting approaches.
* One-stage interview process to verify skills and experience.
