Senior Service Technician

Field Service Technician | West Chicago, IL

Nigel Frank International is working with a growing industrial/packaging equipment organization that is actively looking to hire a Field Service Technician to support customers across the West Chicago area.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, customer interaction, and working with mechanical/electrical equipment in the field. The company is open to candidates from adjacent industries as long as they have strong troubleshooting abilities and can quickly learn new machinery.

Location:
West Chicago, IL
Fully onsite / field-based role
3 Month Contract to Hire with Salary Conversion upto 85k per annum

Compensation:
$32 - 40/hour depending on experience
Overtime available

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform field service repairs and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment
* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation-related equipment issues onsite
* Support installation and startup of machinery at customer locations
* Read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation
* Complete service reports, parts requests, and customer documentation
* Work directly with customers to resolve equipment issues quickly and professionally
* Support large installation projects alongside other Service Technicians
* Assist with training customers on newly installed equipment

* Stretch Wrappers
* Case Sealers
* Strapping Machines
* Shrink Systems
* Balers
* Palletizers
* Bagging Machines
* Other industrial/packaging equipment

Requirements:
* 4+ years of Field Service or industrial repair experience
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting background
* Electrical troubleshooting experience (high and low voltage)
* Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, switches, and relays
* Ability to read CAD drawings
* Strong customer-facing communication skills
* Valid Driver's License
* Comfortable driving up to 8 hours daily using company vehicles
