MS SQL Server Developer

About the Role

We are a growing retail organization seeking an experienced MS SQL Server Developer to support and enhance our data environment. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SQL Server solutions that power core retail operations, reporting, and analytics. You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and functions

Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization
*

Support ETL processes, data integrations, and data pipelines between internal and external systems
*

Partner with business users to understand reporting and data requirements
*

Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across environments
*

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a production environment
*

Assist with data modeling to support retail reporting, inventory, sales, and financial analytics
*

Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams

Required Qualifications

*

Strong experience as a SQL Server Developer in a production environment
*

Expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning
*

Experience working with large datasets and high-transaction systems
*

Ability to translate business requirements into effective database solutions
*

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred / Nice to Have

*

Experience supporting retail systems (POS, inventory, merchandising, e-commerce)
*

Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and/or Power BI
*

Experience with data warehousing concepts
*

Exposure to Azure SQL or cloud-based data platforms
