One of Nigel Frank’s famous rubber ducks reached new heights recently, accompanying AXpact’s Michael Blatherwick on his Mount Kilimanjaro climb.

Michael completed the climb in aid of When You Wish Upon a Star, a charity for children with serious and life-threatening illnesses.

According to Michael, his five day climb was tough, especially watching other people struggle with altitude sickness, injuries, and exhaustion. Michael didn’t suffer from any of these, but the hike didn’t come without its challenges. Whilst trekking through a fierce blizzard his water supply froze and he had to rely on the kind nature of other hikers, whose company kept him motivated and focused. And of course not forgetting our rubber ducky who showed his support throughout the climb!

Michael said: “I wanted to achieve something amazing and I did, but my once in a lifetime experience won’t stop there, The Inca trail to Machu Picchu is next on my list, and of course I hope the Nigel frank rubber ducky would like to be my companion for the second time.”

Many of you will have seen Nigel Frank’s rubber ducks both at Convergence Europe 2014 and in the Dynamics Twitteresphere. Our rubber ducky has found a love for travel and having his photo taken in exciting places. Congratulations to Michael on completing this challenge and of course Nigel Frank is happy to support this very worthy cause.
