Recruiter Profile

Name: Dori Rohan

Education: University of Rochester
Nigel Frank Office: New York City

How did you get your start at Nigel Frank International

I was referred by one of my college friends.

What’s your favourite part of working at Nigel Frank?

The people that I work with and the “work-hard, play-hard” mentality.

How do you help jobs for Microsoft Professionals?

By taking the time to fully understand what they are looking for, in order to present them with relevant opportunities that match their career goals.

What advice would you give to anyone currently looking for a career in microsoft technology?

Be sure to highlight your technical and functional skills/accomplishments on your resume. When we look for qualified candidates, we search their resumes specifically for their experience with different products such as Dynamics GP/Great Plains. If it is not listed, the resume may be overlooked.

What is the biggest mistake you see job seekers make?

Candidates oftentimes will limit their options because they are not flexible when it comes to a starting base salary. It is important to keep an open mind and think of the total package, as well as opportunity, not just the starting base salary.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I like to work-out and hang with my friends. I also enjoy exploring new areas of NYC because there is so much to do and so much to see.

What’s a fun fact that not many people know about you?

I studied abroad and worked in Australia for 5 months. I also was a Division III Varsity volleyball player.

Any final words for the job seekers reading this?

Be open minded when searching for a role and don’t fixate too much on the title of a position. Also, when applying for a role, make sure to identify what the employer is looking for. Once you understand the key qualities an employer is looking for, make sure you highlight your experience in those areas on your resume. It will help your resume stand out.
