Job Description

Nigel Frank is working with a Consumer Packaged Goods Retailer client in Dallas (75251) looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) specialist with strong Data Modeling, Power BI and Data Warehouse experience. This will be a Hybrid role onsite on Mondays and Thursdays in Dallas reporting to the Manager of Data and Analytics on a team that has recently expanded from 3 to 7 people this year. While maintaining a strong culture of curious and innovative problem-solvers, this client has more than doubled employment over the last 15 years and is continuing to grow. Currently, they are proud to employ over 650 full-time staff across more than 25 states throughout the United States.

More on the Role: This Sr. BI Developer will need to be skilled in data modeling, data warehousing and Power BI, have expertise in DAX (specifically a "DAX Wizard") and the ability to build and understand DIM and FACT tables. The role offers the chance to work on exciting projects as the company is modernizing its data platform and data visualization strategies from a traditional solution (SQL Server, SSIS, and Tableau) to a more modern cloud data platform using Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric.

Skills & Qualifications

* Expertise as a Sr. BI Developer skilled in strong data warehouse and data modeling experience.
* Experienced in PowerBI (not just reporting, reports are nice but value is the data-modelling understanding).
* Expertise in DAX (specifically a "DAX Wizard").
* Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations/Dynamics Axapta
* Excellent communication skills to communicate with C-level executives and business teams.
* Define, design, develop, document, and maintain Power BI data models and visualizations.
* Implement advanced techniques using Power BI Premium, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3 to elevate the clients analytics capabilities.
* Develop and maintain complex DAX,DIM and FACT tables, Power Query formula language (M), and T-SQL queries.
* Stay ahead of data science trends and emerging tools and technologies to continually enhance frameworks, processes, and best practices.
* Provide guidance on Power BI security, user mapping, and app deployment.
* Maintain adherence to security and architectural standards as well as usability design principles.
* Work with various data sources such as SQL Server, DataVerse, Excel, Azure SQL, CI/CD pipelines, SharePoint Lists/Libraries, API based data, and unstructured data.
* Oversee and conduct analysis, design, implementation, and support of the company data warehouse which may include developing ETL routines using appropriate tools
* Stay informed about new developments and technologies through continuous learning, industry publications, vendor contacts, trainings, etc.
