Controller - Maryland

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced NAV Controller with a strong background in QuickBooks and a focus on managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring the efficient processing of AP/AR transactions, and leveraging their expertise in both Microsoft Dynamics NAV and QuickBooks to optimize accounting processes and system management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

* Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
* Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and organizational standards.
* Reconcile accounts, verify financial data, and ensure accuracy in reports.

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

* Manage the full-cycle AP and AR processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, collections, and aging reports.
* Monitor and track outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payments and collections.
* Resolve any discrepancies in accounts or payments, coordinating with vendors, clients, and internal departments as needed.

NAV & QuickBooks System Management:

* Leverage expertise in Microsoft Dynamics NAV to manage the financial modules, ensuring accurate system configuration and reporting.
* Utilize QuickBooks for accounting, tracking expenses, and generating reports, particularly in smaller operational contexts or alongside NAV.
* Lead the migration and integration efforts between QuickBooks and NAV when needed to streamline accounting processes.

Financial Planning & Budgeting:

* Collaborate with management to create financial forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
* Track and report on budget variances, identifying opportunities for cost-saving and process improvements.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

* Supervise and mentor the accounting team in their daily tasks, providing guidance on accounting best practices.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, sales) to ensure alignment of financial operations with business goals.
