JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions: As a Senior System Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in organizing, installing, and supporting computer and network systems. You'll be responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and proactively maintaining hardware and software assets to ensure system reliability and security. Collaborating on special projects to implement new systems or enhancements will also be part of your role.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Design, organize, modify, and support computer systems, including operating systems, business applications, security tools, web servers, email systems, and user hardware.
* Swiftly resolve system failures and troubleshoot issues.
* Manage hardware and software upgrades.
* Research and evaluate upcoming products, service protocols, and standards for systems software.
* Install and configure local and wide area networks (LANs, WANs) and network segments and servers.
* Ensure continuous internet connectivity, manage O365 for email communication, and oversee file servers for data management.
* Monitor system performance and generate reports.
* Administer user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and active directory.
* Lead process enhancements and modifications.
* Uphold system integrity, security, and efficiency.
* Develop and execute backup and recovery plans.
* Maintain internal documentation and provide technical support and training to staff.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator.
* Proficiency in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management, and virtualization systems.
* Knowledge of network security and data backup/recovery.
* Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows and Linux).
* Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
* Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Engineer (MCSA), CompTIA Server+, and VMware Certified are a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and occasional stair climbing. Prolonged computer use is also expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role involves office work with occasional visits to manufacturing and warehouse areas. Exposure to elements like odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals may occur.
