The Company:

I have recently started working on a vacancy at a Gothenburg-based customs services company. They are looking to hire a senior-level .NET developer to work on a few different new features and solutions, effectively modernising the company's IT output. The company has grown and scaled effectively during its more-than 25 years in business, during which time it has been bought by much larger corporations who see its value in the customs and trade space. They offer a market-leading maritime trade platform, assisting trade corporations with planning their logistics and organising trade documents.

The company's IT team are currently working on replacing a legacy customer site, and designing and deploying a separate product that will function almost like an add-on to the new product. This is a symptom of their accelerated growth since their recent acquisition by a globally-known shipping corporation. Business for our client is set to boom in the coming months and years as they receive investment from their parent company, meaning that you'll have plenty of greenfield development to work on. The IT team, meanwhile, form a close-knit group with an established product development approach.

The Role:

The products are built in a Microsoft environment so it's important that you have good experience with .NET/C# and MSSQL, along with experience with JavaScript for the frontend aspect of your role. Their cloud infrastructure is built in Azure but they are open to speaking to candidates with knowledge of other cloud providers such as AWS. You'll lean more towards the backend in this role, though you will not lose touch with the frontend by any means!

You'll oversee the development and implementation of the new features that are currently being developed, while you may also get involved with software updates and feasibility studies on company systems. You'll have a certain amount of managerial responsibility, while still being expected to participate in the development itself, and help mentor more junior developers. Along with the rest of your team, you'll come up with innovative ideas for new features and solutions, while assessing how the team could implement new technologies effectively.
