A unique opportunity as arisen for an experienced Data Governance professional to join a small to medium sized organisation to lead them in devising and implementing a new Data Governance strategy. They are based on the South side of Tower Bridge, and are looking for you to come into the office 2 days per week.
This is a brand-new role within the business - they don't currently have a centralised data function and are very much in their infancy from a data maturity point of view. They now want to make more use of the data they have available, and recognise this needs to start with ensuring they have correct, good quality data that can provide meaningful and accurate information.
The purpose of this role will be to establish a centralised data system, which will involve tidying up data from a variety of sources (currently including D365, Excel and various other bespoke systems) whilst introducing procedures around data quality, data lineage and governance. This may then progress to creating a centralised data warehouse, and the long-term focus will then be to build out a reporting suite, making this a really exciting and challenging role for the right candidate to make a long-lasting impact!
You'll be required to be hands-on in this role whilst also acting in a more strategic and advisory capacity, making this a very varied role. It's clear that this organisation have a long-term strategy of what they want to achieve, and they're keen to find an experienced Data Governance professional to guide them on this journey.
Requirements:
* Experience devising and implementing a data governance strategy
* Experience working with unstructured data from a range of sources and working to improve data quality, lineage and governance
* Experience with data migrations
* Experience with SQL & Dynamics 365 would be highly beneficial but not essential
* Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people
Benefits:
* Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
