Senior Data Engineer - Azure - Westminster

I am currently working with a client who have been commended internationally and feature in the London Stock Exchange after being founded in the North East as a humble business venture over 30 years ago, now dominate nationally and globally and aim to lead us to a more sustainable future. My client are currently looking to take on a Senior Data Engineer to join their newly formed Data Centre of Excellence (DCoE), comprising of Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Product, BI Engineering and Analytics resources, who will work together to create solutions and guide the way for data-led decision making throughout the business.

As Senior Data Engineer, you will be using a variety of technologies to collect, model and analyse data; liaise with business departments, operating companies and the wider IT team to design and implement solutions, not just the development and maintenance ETL pipelines.

Essentially, in this role, you will need to remain one step ahead of BI Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure there is a strong infrastructure in place with the necessary data and tools available to ensure the delivery of end-to-end solutions. This is an exciting time to join a growing team and to help shape the way in which the company tackle their solutions.

The client is looking to take on one Senior Data Engineer with a base salary of up to £60,000.

The experience and abilities I am looking for to fill this role are as follows:

* Must be comfortable working with ambiguity as the company goes through adaptations as a changing working environment, so drive and open-mindedness is key.
* This role would be best suited for a candidate with a strong background in computer/science with robust numerate and analytical skills.
* A robust knowledge of SQL/Python and the ability to implement these skills in your work.
* A strong understanding of data warehousing methodologies.
* Leadership and teamworking skills would be ideal as you will be leading the Data Engineering team and guiding them in their work as well as liaising with other teams on various departments.
* A relevant certification such as Azure, Data Engineering, Databricks or Snowflake is desirable.

This role would be well-suited to a candidate with a solid background within Data Engineering and are malleable to the evolving working climate of the company and are able to implement their pre-existing SQL and Python, Azure, Databricks or Snowflake skills to their projects.

This position is hybrid, with 2-3 days on-site in their office HQ based in the iconic Westminster, which is easily accessible with local Westminster and St. James' Park tube stations. Please note that in the first few weeks may require you to visit operating companies.

This is an excellent opportunity for Senior Data Analysts to join the evolution of a distinguished company as they shift their business model to pertain to the demands of the modern world.

The interview process is currently underway so apply today to prevent missing out by contacting me on 01913386628 or sending a CV to c.bliss@nigelfrank.com
