The Company:

We have recently begun working with an exciting client working in data analysis and valuation for the Swedish housing market, who are looking for a hands-on software architect to head up the development team from a design perspective. The company monitor and log activity in the Swedish real estate market, presenting data in real time through the use of powerful valuation and analysis tools, whilst also providing market share and price information services. Their products are used by anyone from the individual up to large financial institutions.

The company was founded in the 1980s and still retains some of its founders, as well as clients from the early days, showcasing their ability to build long-standing relationships with customers and gain trust in a volatile market. The development team tend to work collaboratively with short communication pathways, making technical decisions as a team, with everyone's ideas taken on board. They are well known in Kungsbacka for their fantastic workplace culture, as a family in which anyone can speak freely with anyone. Work-life balance is hugely important to our client and is prioritised above anything else.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for the design and architectural planning of new features such as their all-new web services, as well as leading the development team currently building their product and helping them deliver the architecture you have mapped out. This role will involve some hands-on coding too, helping to take the product through its full life cycle up to delivery. There will also be further development of their existing web services, both internal and external.

Direct experience of architecture is obviously a plus, though not necessary if you have a good prior understanding of software architecture and a desire to move into one such role. The products are built in a Microsoft environment, so knowledge of C#/.NET and MS SQL are important, though as an architect you'll need a good base understanding of a range of software to understand how to deploy it best to achieve the desired results. Specifically, prior experience with Azure is preferable, alongside a good understanding of DevOps principles. Being comfortable with ElasticSearch would also benefit an application.
