DevOps Engineer / Farnham / £35,000 - £55,000 / Remote Days / Flexible Hours
Hello DevOps enthusiasts! My Surrey based client who carry Gold Partner status delivery software solutions into over 40,000 users but to make sure they are the go - to people on the market this means the tech they provide can't be gathering dust. This is why they have reached out once again and given me the task of finding their next DevOps engineer to support their migration into being fully automated.
So what are they doing and why hire now? They are making the transformation into a future focused fully automated CI/CD pipeline with the choice of cloud provider being Azure. To be completely transparent this is a fairly small team of 10 so there is no hiding behind anyone else's work here. You need to know your trade and be able to bring you're "A-Game" to the table.
As it stands the pipeline is semi-automated but the aim of the game here naturally is to process this to a repeatable templated approach to create the capacity to architect new environments with ease- and repeatedly! To keep their reputation on a pedestal evaluation of technology is key so you will work collaboratively with your team to ensure that you don't fall behind the competition. Putting ideas on the table is essential and everyone has a voice.
What are the logistics of working here? This role will see you feed into your 2 senior team mates who will then directly report into the technical lead. Your seniors are there to learn from and can be used as a tool to refine your niche. That said it's not the only way you can learn - specific funding will be yours for the taking. This can be in the form of any training material such as certifications, courses, tech talk or meet ups. The working environment is chilled out as they understand the clogs don't turn well in a highly strung environment when you have someone luring over your shoulder. They let you do your thing
What do you need to bring to the table? So to get things moving I would like to see a good few years in a commercial environment building/ deploying into an Azure environment. That's pretty much key as a starting point to make you a good fit for this role and strong experience scripting in SQL Server is also up there.
To keep up with the pace and delivery for this role I recommend around 3 years experience carrying a tool box like this…
Build & deploy in an Azure cloud environment using scripting / templating / scripting SQL server / / Visual Studio Online / Builds with Continuous Integration and Delivery / GIT / Team foundation server
What do you get in return?
- Base Salary + Bonus
- Flexi time, remote days
- Up to 40 days holiday
- Laser focused training plan and personal training budget
- Private Health Care
Next Steps - If this role is for you - GREAT ! But if it's not then don't worry, if you're passionate about all things Azure I have many other roles that could be a better match so drop me a message either way and lets have a chat
