Title: D365 F&O Technical Lead
Location: Remote but candidate must be based in NYC, ATL or CHI

I am working with a client who is seeking a D365 F&O Technical Lead to join their team. The ideal candidate is an experienced and versatile finance technology professional with proven success driving IT projects from initiation to implementation. Key experience for this position are the business domain knowledge, business relationship management skills along with a hands-on attitude to meet deadlines and exceed business expectations that brings an innovate approach to problem solving.

The candidate will be able to drive strategic end-to-end development and support of Finance technology platforms and integration solutions using modern technologies and pragmatic practices. This technical lead will also be responsible for managing a team consisting of at least 2 onshore and 8 offshore technical resources.


  • Drive end-to-end development and support of technology and integration solutions using modern technologies and pragmatic practices

  • Review, analyze and evaluate current application suite to improve processes and drive automation and efficiency

  • Analyze and initiate business process improvements and solutions to identify risk factors and formulate solutions to mitigate risks

  • Resolve highly complex issues to provide timely resolutions

  • Define scope, objectives and requirements in a project management capacity to execute project vision to meet business demands

  • Provide oversight and guidance on all project management activities for the team; provide fair and thoughtful estimates of task completion

  • Track project progress and adjust timelines/deliverable employing agile principles, with a focus on budget management and return on technology investment

  • Educate and manage expectations of senior leadership and business stakeholders on overall project health, risks, deliverables and deadlines

  • Ensure continuous improvement to education, testing, and deployment of a platform activities

  • Continue to build upon One Team principles with a focus on teamwork and collaboration

  • Comply with departmental internal controls, documentation, and best practices of Agile framework

  • Direct all technical aspects of an AX/D365 F&O administration, platform stabilization activities, system upgrades and new system implementations

  • Insure up to date content is maintained for all technical documentation on key systems and processes


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technology related field

  • 5 + years' experience in AX2012 Finance & Operations and 2 years of experience in D365 F&O with emphasis on General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project module Fixed Assets, Reporting (SSRS, Management Reporter)

  • Working knowledge of virtualization (Azure), Citrix, or equivalent

  • Deep IT Program Manage experience, business systems analysis and project management

  • Experience working with external vendors, service providers and recruiters

  • Strong client facing skills; proven track record partnering with business

  • Professional presentation and delivery; ability to pitch solutions, escalate issues with confidence

  • Deep understanding of application development design principles and patterns, and all aspects of the software development lifecycle

  • Strong knowledge of common Windows productivity tools such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, etc.

  • Deep business knowledge with financial and banking concepts such as accounting, general ledger applications and concepts

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; strong ability to be an active listener; ability to present complex, technical ideas in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with ability to interact with all levels of management and employees
