Title: Program Manager (Microsoft)
Type: Permanent/Full-Time
Salary: Up to $130K
Location: CT (Office-based)

Our client is working with a number of new Microsoft products to support their infrastructure and development efforts. We are looking for an experienced Program Manager with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft products and services to support numerous upcoming projects. The successful candidate will have the knowledge required to hit the ground running and set the standards for all PM methods and policies in both an Agile and Waterfall environment. Previous experience leading a team of PM's is highly desirable, as this position will have 2 direct reports, and report directly to the VP of IT.

This is not a task management role - the successful candidate will have proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, managing overall capital and operating budget of IT investments, aligning IT investments with business objectives and tangible results, overseeing the set-up involved with project kick-offs, etc. The Program Manager will lead the overall portfolio of internal and external business partners IT investments, and must have strong attention to strategy, change management, implementation, and planning.

Job Duties:

  • Act as IT PMO for projects within Microsoft applications, database and system consolidation, as part of an overall data center migration effort.

  • Manage multiple projects implementing supporting infrastructure and process, develop and implement internally and through Microsoft provided and/or managed solutions.

  • Responsible for designing, implementing and executing a deployment strategies for system migrations.

  • Lead the company's effort to upgrade and migrate all users and devices to the latest version of O365 collaboration tools.

  • Lead projects involving disaster recovery, high availability and application development.

  • Develop project analysis through implementation, including requirements documents, design documents, vendor statements of work, application inventory, development, testing plans and scripts, and implementation plans.

  • Perform team-based project planning, implementation, and reporting using informal/formal program/project and risk management tools and techniques to mitigate cost, schedule and technical impacts to the organization.

  • Lead the review/assessment of proposed projects and investments to establish executable and achievable plans within the proposed schedule, budget and customer proposal requirements

  • Develop and manage a budget and operating plan for the projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.

  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives.

  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.

  • Analyze and recommend efficient and effective system solutions to highly diverse and complex business and technical problems.

Technical Skills:

  • 7+years' experience in program management, including the following:

    • A portfolio of multiple IT investments spanning multiple years and countries

    • Projects to improve IT capabilities and performance

    • Project assessments and root cause analysis

  • Experience with programs to implement tools to support IT working as a business including IT Service Management, Application Life-cycle Management, and Portfolio Management Applications.

  • Experience of Waterfall and Agile development methodologies in a complex environment.

  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles.

  • Knowledge of budget preparation, cost estimating, monitoring, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
