    Job description

    A well-established Financial Services organisation are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join their talented database team - whilst they have offices in London and Berkshire, this role can be fully remote, so is open to candidates based anywhere across the UK.

    The initial focus of the role will be the support, maintenance and administration of their on-prem SQL Server estate, which covers a number environments and multiple SQL versions from 2012 through to 2019, and are a mixture of both in-house and supplier-developed environments.

    As such, this role will require strong competencies in monitoring, reporting, performance tuning, ETL, high availability, disaster recover and release management.

    You will also participate in the design, planning and future migration to Azure-based solutions, making this a brilliant opportunity for someone who is looking for an opportunity to develop their skills with Azure technologies!

    Requirements:

    * Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA, including maintaining database changes from Development to Production, following release management processes
    * Strong experience with PowerShell and T-SQL scripting
    * Understanding of ETL and batch processes, using replication and SSIS
    * Some experience creating reports with either SSRS or Power BI
    * Microsoft Certifications would be desirable but not essential

    I am working with a hugely successful, global organisation who are looking to add a Data Architect to their growing London based data team. This organisation have recently implemented a brand new data platform encompassing the full Microsoft Azure Stack including leveraging databricks in order to deliver on its goal of becoming truly data driven.



    In this role you will be responsible for the design and ongoing implementation of the organisations Azure data platform architecture. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to fully understand their data needs. You will also be responsible for establishing data governance policies and procedures across the organisation and take ownership for the entire data platform.



    As part of this role, you will also be responsible for some of the following:

    * Take ownership for the design and development of the data platform architecture
    * Provide guidance to team members of data-related matters
    * Work closely with data engineers to establish data pipelines, solutions and infrastructure
    * Define and document data frameworks and data standards



    This is a salaried role paying up to £90,000 per annum as a base salary depending on experience. This is a hybrid role, where you will work 3 days from the companies central London based office. There is also a company benefits packages which includes -
